Update: read our Hands on Samsung Galaxy Tab review and find out whether this really is a rival to Apple's iPad.
Samsung's fabled iPad rival looks like it might be packed to the gills with the latest technology as the Koreans take on Apple.
The Apple iPad has yet to launch, but already has been criticised for lacking a number of key hardware and software features.
According to Tweakers, the new Samsung tablet will be running the latest version of Google's Android system, as moving to Microsoft's Windows 7 will slow things down too much.
Better hardware
It will also have a greater number of input and out put ports, which will presumably mean USB and memory card expansion, something the iPad sadly lacks.
The final point that might give the Samsung Android tablet a significant advantage over the iPad is the use of 4G connectivity, enabling blinding wireless speeds well in advance of today's 3G.
However, this hints at a more Asian-centric focus if true, as the proliferation of 4G networks around the rest of the world has yet to take off.

5. Why are all writers comparing things with Ipad and not with some other gadget which is already in the market? Obviously all existing gadgets are not making owners completely satisfied. Comparing a to be product with Ipad is even worse.

4. I don't really care if they are made by Apple, Samsung or Kellogs I just want to know why?
Also I can't help but think these touchpad keyboards if used frequently will cause more damage than a standard keyboard. A standard keyboard has built in shock absorbsion in a way. Where'as touchpad keyboards will be like hitting a piece of wood all day long if you are typing.
I still don't get it though why lug one of these things around, are we so badly conditioned we can't sit on a train for 5 minutes without watching the latest Glee from iTunes or playing a sub standard version of Fifa10?

3. @bradavon my guess would be that it will spoil the design look with *gasp* unsightly slots or lines for the cover of slots etc. With Apple's penchant for one piece aluminium designs it makes most sense if that is the reason.

1. Has Jobs ever given a reason why he's against memory cards so much? It makes no sense no Apple kit has a memory card slot.
