Nintendo's DSi LL - bigger screen

It's hardly the best kept secret, but Nintendo has finally confirmed that it is to release a big screen DSi in Japan next month and in Europe early in 2010.

At a press event in Tokyo, the games giant showed off the Nintendo DSi LL which will feature a 4.2 inch screen.

The addition of a larger screen is said to be Nintendo's response to market feedback from older users.

Pen bundled

The DSi LL will come bundled with a bigger pen and three titles pre-installed and will sell in Japan at 20,000 yen – which is around £135. Nintendo has also confirmed that the price in Europe will be 'higher' than the current DSi price - unsurprisingly!

The screen is certainly a big increase on its predecessor – falling just short of double the size.

We'll be badgering Nintendo UK for an answer in the course of the coming days and weeks.

4. mcphooey - where do you buy your tech from??

The dsi is £139 just about everywhere. Expect this to be £149, maybe £159

3. Same res, its a larger DSi - plays DSi & DS games as you'd expect.

RRP of normal DSi is £204.99... so expect this to be same or higher!!

2. Is it the same screen res on a bigger screen or an improved screen res as well? Will it play standard DSi games?

1. So if the price in japan will be 20,000 yen, which is £135 it will probably be released in the UK for about £200
