Make your own games – no experience necessary

Kodu Game Lab

The holidays are an expensive time, so we’re bringing you a special treat: a full, free, fun Windows program to download every day until Christmas.

Peek behind the 23rd door on our downloads advent calendar to discover Kodu Game Lab – a fun, intuitive way for anyone new to coding (kids or adults) to create their own games. It was originally designed for the Xbox 360, and is now available free for Windows too.

No programming or design experience is necessary to get started because Kodu uses a simplified programming model that involves selecting functions via a graphical interface rather than typing code. It can be controlled with either a mouse and keyboard, or a games controller.

Make, play, share

Kodu games are executed in a full 3D environment, and can include racing games, RPGs, platform games, puzzles, and first-person shooters.

Once your creations are finished, you can share them via the Kodu Game Lab Community, where you can also download worlds created by other players.

It's brilliant fun, so download it today and give it a try!
