Default Have you got too old for games?

Following on from our article '11 signs you're no longer a hardcore gamer', when and how did you realise you might no longer be cutting it?

When I became aware that the same games formats were being rehashed with an alleged "new" slant, but they were just another FPS, or whatever, that need higher spec'd hardware.

its the kids I tells ya
getting thrashed at a game that I had invested a good few hours in by my 13 year old nephew who had never played the game before. That was tipping point for me. Can't cut it any more.

It's not that I'm too old for gaming (35 years young) or can't hack it with the kiddies online.

It's just finding the time to indugle in PC gaming, with increasing demands on my time that is natural progression for the majority of us as we move through life, i.e. wife, childern, work, etc.

So if your a gamer at heart, your never to old you just don't play as much as use too because other things become more important in your life.

Ooooh yeah - totaly with you on that one.

I've not seem to play my 360 for ages now - I would sell it but I know I would just be looking to buy another one down the line when a cool looking game comes out

Default aaaaargghhh my reaction times suck

You know you are too old when you start to duck when explosions go off, and you find yourself HAVING to blink whilst playing Burnout Paradise...

Seriously though its when you struggle to make the time for your hobby thats when you know your life has overtaken you

Default too old for games?

Hi everyone & Merry Xmas!!!

Too old for games??? That depends on a variety of things.

I suppose it also depends upon how competitive you are?

I for one really enjoy playing pc & console games with my
15yr old son, 17yr old daughter and my wife (36) as for me,
I'm almost 52yrs of age! I also like to win... If it's a game such as racing or football and even the excellent CODWWII or even MOH-Airborne then bring them on.

Having said that! I can not defeat my son or daughter on World of Warcraft Etc.

Finding the time to play is also hard, especially when you have to work. I also like to ride my 750cc & 1000cc bikes.

So, I'd say it's all in the mind... Do you fight too the death? Or do you accept defeat and crawl away with your tail between your legs???????
