I'd like to compare the results of a red laser Hi Def system against Blu ray. Even with better compression and going double-sided, I find it hard to believe there's equivalent quality. We'll see.

1. HD DVD does NOT use red-lasers, it used blue-lasers.
Also the 11 companies were not "granted a patent" by the BDA. They were given a licence to use the patents, which is entirely different.
The main problem with Blu-ray in China is AACS licencing, which gets no mention here.
