5. The main reason UK Wired failed was, IMHO, because US Wired was a better mag with more pages and more articles from the source of the booming Internet technologies, and the physically smaller Wired UK was inevitably seen as Wired Lite. Readers therefore stuck with the original. I find it hard to see how that will change this time around.

4. British tech journalists (and British readers interested in new tech stories) are harder to please/get excited about technology than their more PR-able US counterparts. This is the reason Wired UK failed ten years ago. It will be interesting to see how Conde Nast plans to deal with this.

3. Forza Italia - no I'm kidding. Problem with Wired is that tech journalism is much more ra ra in the US and not nearly as cynical as the UK. Hard job for the edito - but not impossible. Good luck to 'em
