1. This is surely not really that big of a surprise ot anyone. The 3G iPhone has been rumoured since before the current iPhone model was even released and the evidence for the 3G model has been steadily mounting since early this year. In the face of such compelling evidence for a new model very few people are likely to want to buy a current model iPhone rather than wait a few months for the upgraded, 3G, GPS-enabled version.

2. Apple not being the biggest in the world is no surprise, as they are so nascent.
Give them four or five years, and they'll be up there alongside RIM, as much as it pains me to say it.
