Sharp is the latest big-screen brand to announce a range of LED-backlit LCD TVs.

The new LE700 line-up announced for the US market, which claims to 'bring LED technology to the mainstream,' are built around proprietary Full-Array LED backlighting diffuser sheets, which promise more-even illumination.

The super-slim TVs will come in 32-, 40-, 46- and 52-inch screen sizes; all offer 120Hz frame-rate conversion and have a quoted response time of 4 milliseconds. All but the smallest set offer access to Sharp's AQUOS 'net internet content portal, featuring weather info and news.

To reduce power consumption, the sets also sport an Optical Picture Control, which adjust the screen's brightness depending on ambient room light. More news on any UK roll-out as we get it.

3. Sounds like a good offering from Sharp, but can't help but feel they've missed the gun a little.

Samsung did well with their TV campaign and online presence. Sharp will have to do a lot to catch up.

1. Sharp have been market leaders in the LED TV field for sometime now. Their top set's always

score higest on the reviews, that's why I bought one!

However Sharp have dropped the ball here, what on earth were they thinking "A Silver Surround" ! Silver draws the eye away from the picture, Black draws the eye to the picture!

It must be a BLACK surround! like the other

Sharp's.
