It's day two of IFA and all the major press conferences are now well and truly over, much to the relief of the numerous hacks and PRs at the event, who round about now are already half-cut on the free bubbly and looking forward to a weekend of fun and naughtiness in Berlin.

Rob gave us the full low-down from the Samsung event today, with the company dangling the tantalising promise of a 'seamless experience' for TV consumers, while Jamie was on hand to find out what LG had to serve up for the gadget-freaks at IFA this year.

Audio and cinema goodies

TechRadar has had a chance to get a look-see at a few interesting new portable and home audio products today, including Logitech's new Squeezebox, some new iPod FM transmitters from GEAR4 and some new volume controlling tech from Dolby and ambiSound tech from Philips that TechRadar's Mr. Beavis was raving about (to anybody that would listen) all day.

On the home cinema front, we particularly liked what we heard coming out of Philips' new CinemaOne, which promises to be both an affordable and simple audio solution for those that don't want to spend too much on kitting out their lounge with high-end home cinema audio kit after buying a new HD TV.

HD Projectors for gamers

Epson's new range of projectors also caught our eye, particularly as we are on the look out for an affordable HD projector for our gaming den. These new sub-£500 babies could well fit the bill. We'll be sure to bring you our full review as soon as we get hold of our review samples from Epson.

LG joined, well, pretty much everybody else, by launching a netbook (sub-notebook, web-book… whatever you want to call it!), but it was Samsung's so-called 'MacBook Air killer' the X360 that impressed us the most at IFA today. Of course, if you are in the market for a MacBook Air, then it's hardly likely that you are going to want a PC laptop, no matter how thin. But that's all by the by.

Slim things of beauty

Read Gareth's full hands on here to find out why Samsung seems to have made a thing of beauty, even though they have clumsily almost named it after a Microsoft gaming console that has a tendency to overheat and blow up.

Finally, if you are feeling the pinch of the evil credit crunch, then check out our ten best ways of saving money online feature. If you can't afford to buy gadgets, then at least let us help you try to stop spending money you could be squirreling away instead. And if you really are that skint, then at least you can wallow in nostalgia while reading our feature on IRC (internet relay chat) and other technologies we've loved and lost.

Have a good weekend! We're off home to play Too Human on the Xbox 360, to see if it really is as good as Microsoft's hype machine would have us believe.
