At the end of a press release from the head of a graphics card and motherboard producer, we found this amusing tale.

"For your entertainment a goody from our RMA department," it says, as if beginning a yarn in the midst of a long evening's drinking. The chap was referring to the pictures you see opposite. Sadly, it appears that an punter sent back his motherboard because, alas, it wasn't working.

Only, there's a slight problem here - the motherboard is clearly bent. Not just beyond repair, but in a wavy pattern which - and we're guessing here - probably resulted in the non-workingness of the PCB. Not surprising; as the second picture shows, the edge of the mobo is over a centimetre off the desk.

Our correspondent says the returnee must have been "so much in love with our products that he must have slept on his mainboard."

But what can the returnee possibly have done to get his motherboard into this state? It wasn't just that he was angry with it and bent it over his knee or bashed it on the desk; the injuries just don't add up and there's no definite mid-point of the bend.

It's not been the subject of over-zealous processor fixing, either - that doesn't push up the edge of the board!

Nope, the only conclusion we can make is that the returnee was a complete and utter imbecile.
