So Glastonbury tickets went on sale yesterday and the usual online farce ensued. Unlike last year’s major TechRadar-fuelled attempt to get ticketed up, I couldn’t quite be bothered doing anything as scientific because – to be honest – last year’s fest was so wet (and I don’t want to see Jay-Z) that if I couldn’t go, it was a fact I could have dealt with.
The first hour was excruciating, once again demonstrating that directing everybody through a single URL is fraught with difficulty. The internet just isn’t designed for that kind of pounding is it? However, our access seemed a little more planned this year, as if our IP was periodically allowed access. We got one set of tickets after about 75 minutes and the second lot around half an hour later.
Of course, we really shouldn’t have bothered. Due to a pee-poor selection of pre-released headliners and last year’s peeing it down, tickets are still on sale. But it’ll still be a fantastic time.
