HTC looks set to upgrade the Hero to the latest version of the Android in March this year.
HTC has announced its new personalisation service for the new Tattoo phone, which is now available to buy from Vodafone.
Users of the HTC Hero on T-Mobile (where it's known as the G2 Touch) won't be able to update their firmware after HTC said it wouldn't support their handset.
T-Mobile will release the HTC Hero today (re-branded as the G2 Touch) online, and in stores over the coming weeks.
At last the phone we've been waiting for has finally arrived. The HTC Hero has emerged blinking into the light, complete with the new Sense UI, to unleash a smackdown on the iPhone and the Palm Pre. Android upgraded, this is the most powerful Google OS phone yet.
After Amazon reported the HTC Hero would be delivered on 15 July, it appears that date will now be around six to nine days later.
