The Fujitsu U904 features an adequate range of ports that can be extended by hooking the machine up to its accompanying docking station to expand the range of interfaces. Clad in a matte black colour to match the Ultrabook, the dock adds one USB 3.0 port, DVI-D, DisplayPort and an Ethernet port.
On its right-hand side of the Lifebook U904 is a single USB 3.0 port, HDMI, a slide-out Ethernet connector, a SIM card slot and a card reader. On the left-hand side is a circular power point, a slot for a Kensington security lock, one USB 3.0 port and room for an audio jack. Fujitsu has opted to keep the front and back of the device free of ports to make its dimensions as slim as possible.
Keyboard and clickpad
The Fujitsu Lifebook U904's QWERTY keyboard is a conventional, no-frills affair, with the right-hand navigational arrows jutting out slightly out in front of the bottom row of keys.
The keys themselves are well-spaced, but unfortunately feel a little too rigid and elicit unsatisfactory feedback that makes you feel like typing anything longer than a few sides of A4 would turn into something of a chore.
The button-less clickpad fares a little better, with smooth scrolling action across the surface and requiring just the right amount of pressure when clicking on the left or right-hand side.
