Linn did it a while back, Arcam just did it, and now Meridian is doingit too. It's the single box that offers CD and DVD playback, FM and/or DAB tuning, multichannel processing and amplification. And it does all of them well...

Forget the fancy design, huge price tag and Ferrari yellow. Meridian is a serious British audio company and is promising that this, a versatile DVD player-cum-CD player-cum-DAB radio, will give us some serious audiophile sound quality. And those claims are spot-on.

The G06 may be Meridian's entry-level CD player, but it doesn't look like a concession to budget values. Indeed, in many ways, it's the most impressive-looking machine here. Apart from anything else, the reprogrammable 'soft keys' are great

Meridian Audio and Ferrari are made for one another. Both make luxury products mere mortals aspire to and both produce high technology design classics. So, putting the two together in one cool product is logical, and the result is a masterpiece
