LG pairs a combined Freeview+ PVR and DVD recorder with a 3.1 speaker system, but does it make for a great night of TV?
LG has been playing the style card a lot recently, and it's paying off. This may only be a mid-price DVD system, but the elegant speakers and glossy black styling perfectly match the current crop of luxurious glossy black flatscreen TVs.
Among this LG system's many snazzy features is an 80GB hard-disk drive, which allows you to rip CDs in MP3 format and create a library of your favourite music - as well as store JPEGs for instant playback.
LG struck black gold with its stylish Chocolate mobile phone and is hoping to reproduce that here with this similarly-styled cinema system. This slab of reflective black plastic boasts the same futuristic touch-sensitive interface as the phone
LG's home cinema systems have undergone a stylish revamp and the new J10HD looks sumptuous in its eye-catching high-gloss black finish. Even the chunky subwoofer has fallen under LG's stylish spell and a large circular led illuminates its front facia, adding to the system's funky feel.
The price tag might seem steep, but with a features list that includes DVD playback and recording, a 160GB hard disk, 5.1 surround sound and video upscaling, this rig could even be a bargain.
