Living with Google Now

Thursday, we had a work from home day and decided to do a bit of photography, making use of the GALAXY Note II's fantastic camera features.

Not knowing our home area that well, it was handy that Google Now can come up with Photo spots nearby. A quick touch of a few of the photos told us where to go to take our images, as simple as that.

Friday: foraging for fine food

Friday was curry night – not that I remembered, but Google Now told me it was as it took it from our Google Calendar.

Handily, the address of the curry house appeared in Google Now alongside the time I was meant to be at the restaurant. And, if I didn't want that restaurant a series of others were offered up to me as replacements.

Saturday: soccer and shopping

Saturday, the day before the Stag Do, was football day. Or it should have been but we had to go shopping to make up for the fact I was away the next day. Lucky then Google Now was always on hand to give me the football results, with a card appearing at the end letting me know my beloved team won and won well.

Sunday: Stags on tour

And then came Sunday, Stag day and a lovely trip to Prague. Was my flight on time? Sure it was and Google Now let me know this with another card pop-up – telling me the time the flight was due to leave and other information.

This is the power of Google Now. It turns your Samsung GALAXY Note II into a brilliant PA, complete with all the information in the world you need to get by week to week.

Of course, you do have to offer Google your search history and location details (do this by going into your search settings) but once done, Google Now is pretty much an indispensable guide to your busy life.
